Mission and Goals
Continuous Recycling Programs
Each year UK households throw away over 29.1 million tonnes of waste of which electrical goods are the fastest growing waste stream, growing by 5% each year.
Our main goal is to incentivise our recycling partners to implement continuous recycling programs rather than relying on organisations to adopt the correct behaviour towards recycling.
In today’s world the added pressure of doing the right thing environmentally can often be one demand too many. We understand this and have designed our schemes to be easy to implement and manage.
In working with our recycling partners we hope to help recycling to become an integral part of the day to day lives of the UK population.
Change in Behaviour
It is our hope that our recycling schemes help facilitate a change in behaviour towards recycling in particular with regard to consumer electronics.
For all our recycling partners there is a range of marketing materials to maximise their recycling schemes available on in our Schemes section.
Our Reciproc8™ Lesson Plans and Teaching Notes for KS2 and KS3 & KS4 levels have been developed in line with the current curriculum guidelines to assist the staff of our educational partners in the introduction and teaching of recycling. This material is available to all our recycling partners once they have registered.
The Growing and Conservation range in our Reciproc8™ Rewards program includes a teaching program that can be used in the classroom or in conjunction with the products and equipment available in the range to incorporate a practical component.
For our corporate, retail and public sector partners we aim to support their CSR initiatives by not only managing recycling programs but helping them in their support of schools, charities and community groups through our Reciproc8™ Rewards program.
Reciprocation
We seek to develop long-term mutually beneficial relationships with our recycling partners based on the ethos of reciprocation. At the heart of our schemes is our Reciproc8™ Rewards program which aims
- to support education through the offering of general teaching materials and equipment
- to promote an active lifestyle through the offering of sports equipment and experiences
- to promote conservation through products and materials to improve wildlife habitats which support the teaching and implementation of conservation projects.
- to support our recycling partners financially with the items in the Reciproc8 Rewards™ program provided at no direct cost.
Environmental Policy
We are committed to both minimising the impact of our activities on the environment and also adopting schemes making a positive environmental impact.
The key points of our strategy to achieve this are:
- regular internal audits of our process and operations to ensure minimisation of waste
- to actively engage in recycling internally but also to promote recycling amongst our suppliers, customers and partners
- to source and promote a product range considering the environmental impact of both production and supply
- to meet and exceed all the environmental legislation that relates to our activities
- regular employee training to ensure environmental objectives are understood, supported and developed upon by our people
- measuring our impact on the environment and setting targets for its improvement
